It's not you, it's me.

I've been doing a lot of thinking over these past few months, and I just feel that I've been growing in a different direction. You've been there, willing to listen willing to be there when I was needing you. I've been happy with the time together, but I think things have just slowed down a little. I've grown comfortable, if not complacent with our situation lately.

You shouldn't feel bad, you provide so much for so many others, I just am looking for more. Looking to grow, looking to take myself farther than I see myself with you.

It's going to be hard, I know. There's a lot of changes that we'll have to cope with, but you'll make it through this. I know you will, you're strong like that.

It's not that I've found someone else, this decision was already made in my head. It might seem kind of fast, but I know I'll be happier this way, trust me.

Who needs pictures of Lamborghinis, Ferraris Super Models, or other objects of lust when you can have this adorning your previously-dull walls..

I'm just saying, I think it's secretly every guy's fantasy to see his girl in it.

Maybe some more than others.

I'm not bored, I am just at a loss for the lack of excitement around sometimes. The shop looks fantastic, it's just a lot nicer when people come in to talk about bikes and look at the awesome clothing we carry. Ah well, I guess I can just continue drooling over all the stuff that I am forcing myself to NOT buy as I attempt to pay off bills.

I've been commuter-bike-less the last few days. I finally gave in and trashed my crankset, having peace-of-mind that my pedals will NOT come loose is worth more than you might think, especially in snow, slush and cold weather. New crank will be here Monday, as well as some other goodies that I picked up on closeout.

It's been an expensive fall: buying gear to commute on, bike, and just other goodies hasn't treated my bank account well. Won't help that I plan on getting two of my bikes painted over winter, and I have a killer SS bike planned for the spring.

Next week expect another bag review as I found a killer deal on a Crumpler Mahoubar messenger backpack. Since I've retired my timbuk2 bag for the time being, this will definitely be a good around-town replacement.

Standardization of bags? The Banjo Brothers bag has been fantastic so far. More in-depth review on it later on!

Short and sweet.

I didn't bring my Garmin inside for this, but I can pretty much get a good idea just from ... you know, guessing.

18 out of 21 days worked this month I commuted in. Thanksgiving was a little weird and I was having pedal issues so that prevented me from getting those last couple days in. One day was working at the West-side, so I won't count that against me too much. ;D

That's another 250+ miles put on the Valencia at least in this eleventh month of the year. Not bad with the temperatures dropping, and a few problems with ... pedals falling off. Just a hint to everyone: make sure your pedals are threading properly, and your cranks aren't threaded opposite of what they should be. Things come loose, those things being pedals. As much as I love float, I don't think it's helpful to have enough where the pedal comes straight out with bits of metal prancing about. Trust me on this.

The commuter bag rocks, I use a pannier quite often as well to supplement the bag for whatever I might be picking up here and there while along the commute. With snow finally on the ground the studded tires will come in handy. I haven't posted a photo in a while, I'll be doing that tomorrow once I get the new crankset on the Valleygirl.

I also added more lights. Sweeeeeet.

Staying warm will be the least of my concerns starting tomorrow, East Washington isn't as plowed as I had hoped along the sides (ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING PEOPLE, IT'S NOT THAT HARD! :P ) but I guess that's why I have enough lighting to blind a small child behind me.

2 - 5" of snow tomorrow by the time I get ready to ride home. I'm giddy with excitement! :D

Thanksgiving commute!

While the day itself was fraught with peril, the overall day went quite well. Was a gorgeous morning and I thought it would be a great way to get back on my commute and bike to the parents' house. All was going well till my pedal decided to strip out. Damn regular-threaded cranks! I was rescued by Papa-Camp at Tenney Park, the place where I took that photo.

Didn't let it get me down at all though, had a lot of fun chatting with the family - something I don't get to do as often now that I'm working all the time and cycling. It was fun last year after graduation, as I was on my epic job hunt, I was able to see them just about every other day. I get along fantastically with my parents, so it's always nice to be around them.

Not much else to really say for the day, I went on an EPIC drinking fest when I got back to my place and it destroyed me. I'm laying off for a while ... I'm getting too old for this. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend Lake Louie's Scotch Ale Reserve. One of my favorite Wisconsin beers in the world.

My winter beard is coming in well, it's longer than my last beard I had in Sept. I've decided to try an experiment with not cutting my hair for the winter. This applies to head and face only. :P

The Valley Girl is all fixed up, new crank (even though this one too is also threaded wrong) but hey ... free parts, can't complain, can ya?

And you know what? Not being able to complain about ... well ... anything: That's something to be really thankful for. :)

There are a lot of cool things in this world that seem to bring out everyone's inner geek. Now, it might be different for everyone, but there's always something.

Star Wars is one of those things for me. I won't go into the whole story of it, but I have very fond memories of the series growing up, marathons with friends, and hell ... even meeting some super cool Euro chick during one such marathon. That being said ... it seems that Marc Ecko is finally tapping into my inner geek, and making me want to actually buy his clothing.

Now ... I don't care what anyone else thinks. Boba Fett is my favorite character from the Star Wars series. I can't even find the words to properly explain how excited this makes me.

I wear a size medium. <3.
